I went to the state fair 2 weekends in a row. I know it sounds kind of pathetic but I think that atmosphere at a state fair can not be duplicated. Here are so animals pictures. I realize that I post pictures of animals a lot. And no I do not really want to be an animal photographer. I just think animals are so cute and I have to take their picture. I also saw BOYS TO MEN perform at the state fair and it was soo fun. I even go to shake one of their hands. I don't know what it is with me and concerts but I just turn into a 12 year old preteen little girl.

I am having a really discouraging day. I want to make the world a better place but today I feel like all hope is lost. I know some of you out there are saying, " Look at the positive" and that is exactly what I am trying to do. I have meant to post these images for a while. They are a little saturated and a little silly but they make me happy in a whimsical creative anything is possible with your camera kind of way. I hope you enjoy and remember to look at the positive. The reason these are kind of grainy is because they were shot with film and them scanned.

Viva Las Vegas!

A couple weekends ago Sam and I went to Las Vegas and it was very fun... Last time I was in Las Vegas was when I was 14, so it has changed a little in my eyes. I made a Love/ Hate list while I was in Las Vegas. Love: The weather, Belagio's fountain, the Paris Hotel, Pina Coladas, nice taxi drivers, random Elvises walking around, chocolate fountains, the lights and the show LOVE!!! Hate: Cold air in the casinos, expensive buffets with bad food( the Excaliur), rainy days when you want to swim, and other things which I will not list here. P. S. I am licking the chocolate fountain even though it does not really look like it... The Red Buddha is from a cool restaurant called Tao though the decorations are very cool the food was not that good... sorry to say.

Hello it is me once again back in the blogging world and oh I have a lot to report. 1. I have moved to a lovely new home in Cedar Hills Utah 2. My mom came and visited me and I had a great time. 3. I think I might pass Oceanography ( I took that class this summer and oh was it hard but I sure did like it).

Here is a modge podge of pictures from the last couple weeks of my life. Most of them are of animals probably because I went to the aquarium, the zoo and I just plain love animals. Though I am myself not really a nature photographer.

The octopus was the hardest because it was a low light situation, I did not have a tripod and he was moving a lot. It's not that good of a picture but I think that octopi are the coolest. If you don't believe me go to the aquarium. The top picture is a turtle and it's reflection. It is not decapitated.

A day with my friends

Last Thursday I enjoyed a lovely day with my friends. First we went to an Indian restaurant in Provo called India Palace which I recommend everyone go to because they are very nice. Then we had gelato which was yummy. Then we went to the bean museum at BYU. I experienced extreme traumatization when I saw Shasta ( she was the lion at the zoo and then she died and now she is stuffed). Anyways it was a fun day.

Air Balloons

In Provo there is a hot air balloon festival around the 4th of July. Sam and I went one morning. They take off at about 6:30 in the morning and it is so beautiful to see the sun coming up as these balloons are floating into the sky. This morning in particular they were unable to fly because of weather conditions so coincidentally all my shots are of the balloons on the ground. Beautiful none the less. P.S. If you are wondering why I am up so late is because I am supposed to be studying for my oceanography test but my brain feels unable to comprehend any more scientific jargon so I am resorting to blogging for a brain break.

An Ode to Brit'

Brittany is a girl who traveled with me in Italy. What a pal! This post as I mentioned in the title is an ode to Brittany. Here are pictures of some of the friends Brittany and I made in Venice. One is a Chinese man that we stalked...he worked at a chinese food restaurant that we ate at every day. Chinese food in Italy...I know what you are thinking but it was awesome. We were very concerned that our little friend did not have any friends because he worked so much but here he is chatting on the phone. The other is a little toy we bought from the street vendors because we felt so bad that no one was buying their product. Mostly this is a inside joke and really I am not this pathetic....well maybe just a little.

A couple days ago I went down to visit my family in Clinton and take a few portraits of them. While I was there I played with my little cousins and some neighbor children on my grandma's porch. It was such a nostalgic feeling of being there. Here are some fun pictures of us playing. Cinque Terre

I went to the Cinque Terre last weekend. The Cinque Terre is a beachy community with 5 little towns along the ocean. A snail, my foot in the water, a vespa and grandpa grandson walk. I really like my friend Brittany. We always seem to wonder off from the group and find the coolest things. It's fun because neither of us have any expectations and we are both up for anything... This day she and I walked around this sleepy little Italian town and took photos. On the way we met this grandpa and grandson on their hike, found a cool vineyard, watched snails, discovered that we do not like anchovy pizza and stuck our feet in the water.

One of my favorite things to do is photograph people. It is as if I have an immediate connection with the people I photograph and through my photographs those people live through my photographs forever. This man I just saw on the street and I snapped a shot of him. Somethings are just perfect little moments in themselves and I have just captured that moment in my picture.

Here are some more of my pictures I have been working on in Italy. The first one is a crazy guy I met on the street. He was so funny after I look his picture he asked me if he could take a picture of me. It was really awkward (awkward is an awkward word to spell) but terribly funny because he got really really close to my face when he took the picture.. The second picture is of a little skeleton head inside a church. And the third is from last weekend when my group went to Cinque Terre ( some beaches in Italy). My buddy Brittany and I went exploring and found this vineyard. I know I am writing a lot...I am trying to write more on my posts.

Here are the pictures from my final in my color photography class. Sorry it took me so long to post them. Aghhh...my life has been a little crazy but good crazy. 1st of all I am leaving for Italy on WEDNESDAY! 2nd of all... Sam and I are moving so we are packing up all of our stuff. 3rd I just got done with finals. So as you can see I have been a little bit busy. Well enough of that here are my photos. It is a circus theme with my model playing all of the roles of the circus. I printed them on a natural colored heavy paper and made cards out of them. I was going for a vintage tin type kind of feel. The colors are a little muted to create that vintage feel. I hope you like them. P.S. Sorry the top picture does not have rounded edges.

A couple weekends ago I went to Salt Lake City and I was reminded how much I really like Salt Lake City. It has all the positive aspects of a big city and yet it does not have some of the negative ones.

Top 5 reasons I love SLC

1. It's pretty clean for a city

2. The Avenues... a cool housing district

3. The roads are on a grid system

4. It has diversity of people

5. Great transportation

6.Great Farmer's Market in the summer.

Today I was thinking about the kind of pictures I like... the pictures that seem to draw me in, making me want more are the soft dreamy whimsical romantic pictures. If you know me at all I am in no way a romantic and in many ways a cynic. I looked up the definition of cynic as I was typing this and here it is.... one who believes that human conduct is motivated wholly by self-interest. Isn't that a sad thing. I think somewhere in my weird little head I have the thought that people who are romantic are weak and ninnies and to be a cynic is smart and strong. I don't know where those ideas came from and somewhere deep down inside me I must have some romantic in me or else I would not like these kind of pictures.P.S. My grammar sucks... I often use run on sentences and only use commas when I think it looks good. Please forgive my poor writing skills.

Here is my sister... Isn't she beautiful? She's now 12 !!! WOW I can't believe it. Sorry this post is so weird. I am such a baby after 10:30; I am exhausted. I leave for California tomorrow and I have not packed yet. Tonight I sat in my closet for 2 hours trying on outfits different outfits but with no prospects. I hate packing. I used to love it but now it is my worst enemy. P.S. I love costco. I went tonight with my husband and I discovered that I always knew that I love costco. Sorry it has been a while since my last post...I have this problem... I am a procrastinator. Every week it seems to be the same thing; I have a school project that I do not do until the last minute and then all week I am stressed about it. So I have looked at my problem and came up with a solution. I am not very disciplined. So my new goal is to be disciplined... this is very hard for me. I tried it yesterday and by 5 I figured I had been disciplined enough for a day. My new philosophy I heard on the Dr. Phil show is "Fake it until you make it" or something like that. So plan on viewing a more consistent posts.
